Chemical Engineering

Introduction
The science of chemical engineering can be summarized in combining of different components such as reaction and separation, and the ultimate goal is production of products with market needs. chemical engineering science can determine the composition of components, the amount of the required energy and energy in the process.
The country's oil and gas resources are one of the national assets that play an important role in the development of Iran's economy. In recent decades, the country has made significant investments in petrochemicals and the conversion of crude oil and gas into valuable products. In addition, the development of the chemical industry in the country has accelerated in recent years. The Islamic Republic of Iran has rich resources of oil (3th rank), gas (2nd rank) and mines (top 10 countries). In order to prevent the crude sale of these non-renewable resources, a great and wide variety of small, large and medium industries is needed. These industries play a significant role in the country's economy as oil and non-oil revenues depend on oil and gas refining, petrochemical, mining, plastics, food, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, military and ... industries. Therefore, a wide range of different sciences, disciplines and area of interest such as chemical engineering must come together to achieve economic and political goals.
Objectives of Chemical Engineering
The first goal includes training efficient and specialized human resources needed by the chemical, petrochemical, refinery, food, pharmaceutical, etc. industries. Training of educational and research instructors required by educational and research centers, science and technology parks, growth centers, small and large companies is another goal. Learners of chemical engineering, while familiar with the theory of advanced topics in chemical engineering, as well as practical and skill-oriented research, will be able to answer relevant industrial problems. Improving the academic degree of the university in order to advance the university's policies is another goal of this field.
The Department of Chemical Engineering started its work by establishing a bachelor's degree (BS) in October 2009 and expanded its activities by accepting master's degree (MSc) students in the process design (2013), thermokinetics and catalyst (2021) as well as PhD in energy engineering (2022) by cooperation of electrical engineering dept. The academic members of department consist of 8 permanent members including 1 professor, 1 associate professor, and 6 assistant professors.
